Position Description Working under the supervision of the Operations Leader, the Recovery Operator is responsible for the batch operation of the recovery and load-out related equipment. Other general duties to keep the plant running smoothly and efficiently. To Promote Safety and Environmental Awareness – The Recovery Operator will be expected to adhere to all safety and environmental guidelines and to promote safety and environmental compliance in all areas. *This position will offer a one-time sign-on bonus of $2,500.00! * Functions, Duties, Tasks: Train on, and become proficient in and safely execute all tasks of the Recovery Operator Recovery Operations Weigh-up and charge batch raw materials to process vessels. Use manual and automated (Delta V) controls and methods to start-up, operate, monitor, and CIP (clean-in-place) recovery equipment (MF & UF filters) and support operations & equipment. Measure and charge cleaning solutions such as acids, bases, detergents to CIP vessels and process vessels as required. Accurately and timely record operations data and observations electronically and manually as required. Perform and document in-process sampling and lab tests (OD (optical density), pH, conductivity, color density) Maintain responsible areas in clean, orderly and sanitary state. Formulation/Load-out Operations Same as Recovery Operations except as applies to formulation/blending operations. Accurately load finished product into designated containers (drums, totes) Work with Materials Coordinator to stage and store finished product prior to shipment. Monitor heavy utilities (chillers, compressors, well, cooling tower, softeners, boilers, cooling loops, wastewater pH control) during off-shifts. Train on, and become proficient in plant safety and environmental procedures. Interact with all levels of staff in all departments of the company. Help to keep the building and equipment neat, clean and audit ready at all times. Basic Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED 2 years of relevant experience. Ability to drive a forklift. Ability to handle 50 lb. packages. Flexibility to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously. Must have good organizational skills and must be detail oriented. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff and external contacts, ability to work as an effective team member. Cooperative and service-oriented attitude; must be able to work under pressure. High level of initiative. Possess the ability and desire to train for and execute other operations positions within the plant. Knowledgeable in MS Office products such as Excel and Word and Adobe Acrobat Writer. Additional Preferences: • Micro- and Ultra- Filtration experience. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Completion of Post Offer Exam (POE), Completion of Work Simulation (SIM) or Completion of Administrative Skills Testing if applicable. Additional Preferences: Experience with Delta V or similar distributive or batch control system. Experience in food or pharmaceutical manufacturing process. Relevant technical trade degree. Other Information: Work 12-hour shifts on days 5:00am to 5:00pm on nights 5:00pm to 5:00am. Shifts rotate days and nights every six weeks. Some overtime required to cover other operator’s absences. The amount of Overtime (OT) varies by area (department) and individual role. It is neither consistent nor regular.
