The Industrial Engineer plays a crucial role in the design, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes aimed at improving efficiency, quality, and safety. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions and promote continuous improvement efforts. Additionally, the role entails providing expertise in product costing to ensure that resources utilized during the manufacturing process are accurately reported, thereby supporting costing and profitability strategies.

Key Accountabilities:
- Optimize manufacturing processes to boost efficiency, minimize waste, and adhere to quality standards. Evaluate production workflows to uncover areas for enhancement by employing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. Analyze weekly and monthly production data to identify root causes of issues and collaborate with the operations team to facilitate resolutions and preventing recurrence.
- Support the development and research of improvement activities, manage continuous improvement projects, and apply lean tools effectively. Create tools, fixtures, and workstations aimed at optimizing manufacturing operations.
- Identify opportunities and/or implement changes to improve products or costs through knowledge of manufacturing processes and methods, production equipment, and quality standards. Lead and plan Kaizen events. Provide Lean Six Sigma expertise or support related to manufacturing, quality, and support functions.
- Ensure the accuracy of the capacity planning model. Oversee annual product costing planning efforts, which encompass production volumes and expenditures, as well as the calculation and analysis of activity rates. Additionally, ensure the establishment of appropriate standard costs, including material expenses, activity rates, and overhead allocations.
- Evaluate and authorize new and updated bills of materials and receipts to ensure they accurately represent the actual production costs and are in accordance with the company's product costing policies and strategies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in plant production budgeting.
- Strong SAP CO knowledge, specifically in product costing (CO-Product Costing, material ledger) for product cost planning, cost object controlling, and month end closing.
- Deep understanding of functionality in SAP for standard price, actual price/PUP and variance allocation as well as set up of related master data.
- Experience analyzing costing value flow and providing business costing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Experience in management reporting.
- Working knowledge of production flows and processes in a repetitive manufacturing environment.
Minimum Hiring Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Cost Accounting, or a comparable level of experience is required. The candidate should possess robust skills in Industrial Engineering, encompassing material flow, process flow, and time and motion studies.
- A minimum of four years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting is necessary, with considerable time spent on the factory floor. The candidate should have experience in supporting manufacturing facilities on a daily basis.
- A comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and financial statements related to Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), Cost of Goods Manufactured (COGM), and inventory valuation across various accounting standards, both domestically and internationally, is essential.
- Experience in both short-term and long-term improvement initiatives is crucial, along with a demonstrated ability to reach consensus and implement enhancements in manufacturing processes. A strong grasp of project management methodologies is also required.
- The candidate must exhibit the ability to accurately identify opportunities within manufacturing processes and possess the technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve complex manufacturability issues. Strong troubleshooting skills, a logical and systematic approach to problem-solving, and excellent interpersonal and communication abilities are essential.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills are required, along with a keen attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The individual must be adept at collaborating within a team setting with shared responsibilities, as well as possessing excellent time management and prioritization skills.
