Job Description
Albemarle is hiring for a Safety Technician. This position is on site in Magnolia, Arkansas.
What You Will Do
Maintenance and service of critical safety equipment, including but not limited to:
- PIV weekly and monthly checks
- Quarterly inspection of PIV in accordance to NFPA standards
- Fire hose and hydrant inspections and checks
- Fire extinguisher monthly inspections and repairs
- Annual fire extinguisher maintenance
- SCBA and SKA inspections and repairs
- SKA Pak hose line testing
- Breathing air cylinder inspection and maintenance
- Level A suit inspections
- Monthly oxygen kits, infectious kits, amyl nitrate, defibrillator, exit signs, and other safety apparatuses in the field
Environmental systems support including but not limited to:
- Biweekly cylinder collection and shipping in accordance to regulatory requirements
- Stack test monitoring
- Incident response as needed, including follow-up for proper disposal
Other duties in HSE include:
- Tracking and documenting status and replacement of all critical safety and environmental equipment above, including work notifications necessary for issues identified during the inspections (whether in SAP or other tracking system)
- Vehicle and bay maintenance and cleaning for ambulance and fire truck at both South and West Plants
- Provide training and support to Operations and Maintenance personnel for the management of safety equipment in their areas
- Provide support to rescue and fire teams as necessary
- Other duties as assigned
What You Bring
Required:
- Experience inspecting and maintaining some or all of the equipment above
- Scott Certified technician (will consider candidates with the ability to obtain certification within 60 days)
- Proficient computer skills in Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, SAP, etc
Preferred:
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Good communication skills
- Able to solve problems when encountered in the field
- Organized and structured to keep track of the documentation on the critical safety equipment
