JOBSUMMARY
This position is responsiblefor procurement functions associated with the company’s productinventory needs. Items are required to be purchased within companycost and quality parameters and delivered at competitive levelsconsistent with company policy and performance standards includingtimely scheduling of pick up and receipt of products. Continualinteraction with Sales and Suppliers isrequired.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providetechnical, customer relations, and personnel management for majorprograms and projects.
- Buy Guide / Ordering –Reviews guide daily and place PO’s as needed with suppliers. Ordersneed to be accurate for amount, freight, price and dates consistentwith company policy and performance standards. Working with financeand vendors on payment requirements.
- DailyReports – Reviews and acts as required to ensure proper and correctinventory levels by using the system generated reports andinformation from internal departments. Ex. Out of Stock andOver-allocated Reports
- Confirmations – Confirmsall PO’s for accurate pricing, quantity, freight, anddates.
- Inventory Management – Uses weeklyreports and meetings to achieve the best possible inventory levels,dated product, and returns. Works with inland logistics to arrangefor on-time product deliveries.
- Item / VendorMaintenance – Updates all item and vendor information in thesystem, as required. Pricing, freight, brackets, ship points,etc
- Communication daily with the Salesteam
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
HSD or equivalent / Bachelor DegreePreferred
Experience
2 years’ purchasing or food distribution experiencerequired.
Foodservice distribution experiencepreferred
Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and excellentorganizational and follow up skillsrequired
AS400 experience preferred
