JOBSUMMARY
The productionsupervisor is responsible for the planning, scheduling anddirecting the work efforts of the production operations departmentof the facility in an effort to meet and / or exceed, productivity,safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals, and ensure thedepartment operates according to established company policies andprocedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct,coordinate and monitor the daily activities and performance ofproduction direct and indirect associates to assure delivery ofhigh productivity, quality, customer service and compliance ofstandard company policies, procedures, andsafety.
Direct, coordinateand monitor daily activities and performance of the materialhandling area for both direct and indirectlabor.
Manage employeeperformance through motivation, delegation, development, mentoringand resolving conflict.
Takecorrective action as necessary on a timely basis and followingcompany policy.
Conductregular department or pre-shift meetings to foster employeeengagement, communicate any changes to company policies andprocedures, address employee concerns, foster idea-sharing andsuggestions forimprovement.
Participate instaff selection, performance and compensation evaluations,corrective action and terminations, asnecessary.
Evaluate andinterpret business demand, prioritize and distribute daily workassignments.
Establish lineassignment and staffing depending on the line prioritylist.
Determine and monitorworkstation assignments / rotation, associatebreaks and requiredovertime.
Meet productiongoals, quality and costobjectives.
Monitor andmaintain inventory levels in the material handling and productionareas by using a warehouse management system(WMS).
Review and record allproductiondocumentation.
Participatein the implementation and roll-out of lean principles using 5S,Kaizen, and Kanban methods andtools.
Provide and maintaina safe work environment by directing safety training, generatingand reviewing standard operating procedures(SOP).
Coordinate effortswith the safety department to aid in training, conducting associateobservations, updating preferred work methods, conducting accidentinvestigations to determine root causes and routine safetyinspections.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Highschool diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalentdegree; or equivalent combination of education and relatedexperience.
Experience
3-5years of food manufacturingexperience.
Meat &Seafood manufacturingpreferred

Excellentcommunication (verbal and written) skills are necessary to performat a high degree ofproficiency.
Ability toread, analyze and interpret general business periodicals,professional journals, technical procedures or governmentregulations.
