Join our team. #CloroxIsThePlace Your role at Clorox: The Plant Engineer provides day-to-day engineering technical expertise to Operating Departments as needed. Leads the design and implementation of site-based capital and manufacturing improvement projects. Evaluates the feasibility of manufacturing, packaging, and process systems improvements and modifications. Through leadership and influence will lead project teams to deliver capital projects, manufacturing process improvements, and solve manufacturing problems. Manages and directs the work of outside engineering consultants and construction contractors during design and implementation of projects. This position is part of the plant leadership team. In this role, you will: Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the site’s safety performance by supporting site safety programs and initiatives. Enable continuous improvement of the site’s manufacturing performance. Support environmental sustainability goal achievement Proactively identify and solve packaging, process, and plant utility system problems by using plant, company, and external resources. Support and lead cost savings initiatives across the site and help to reduce plant spending Support Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations organizations within the entire facility. Participate in and share information on technical seminars for Maintenance and Operations in order to stay up to date on current trends, changes, and technological advancements. Develop personal skills and train teams (Engineering, Maintenance, and Operational) on new techniques, etc. Advocate for engineering innovation at the manufacturing site. Provides solid input and insight to the team on business and engineering needs and proposals. Support and drive regulatory compliance. Manage projects in accordance with Clorox Project Management Standards to achieve required results, timing, and budgetary targets. Development of manufacturing equipment, processes, and procedures essential to line extensions, product improvements, and new product development. Manage project scope, schedule, and finances to meet predetermined Clorox business objectives. Utilize technical materials such as equipment manuals, system drawings, P&IDs, schematics and blue prints to troubleshoot and repair equipment issues. Interpret industry, regulatory, and company specifications and standards and apply to projects. Provide technical analysis, project cost and schedule estimation, engineering effort forecasting, design recommendations, preparation of design and equipment specifications, design, review of design documents, development of construction sub-contract documents, and lead construction, commissioning, and start-up activities at plant facilities. Collaborate with Supply Chain and engineering teams to ensure consistent communication, successful start-ups, define any new capital requirement, influence future capabilities, and identify internal and external process improvements that deliver cost and/or efficiency savings Proficiently select and apply known technology from inside and outside sources to achieve business results withing and across business units. Establish and grow new external technology and capability partners. #LI-Onsite What we look for: Excellent organization and project management skills Knowledge of production and processing including raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods Complex problem-solving skills to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions Critical thinking skills to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems Ability to work both independently and in groups and to implement multiple projects in a timely manner High level of initiative and ability to drive results Change management experience and discipline Apply fundamental technical and processing knowledge from inside and outside sources to achieve project results in the plant Strong technical curiosity and creative problem-solving skills, sound technical judgement, and hands-on focus Bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred 3 years of relevant work experience is required Work experience in manufacturing facility/environment required.
