The Field Sales Team Leader – Pet Channel will play a pivotal role in leading the cross-functional team to design, enable, and execute a growth plan across key customers, including Chewy, PetSmart, Petco, Pet Supplies Plus, and the Independent Pet Channel. This role will be responsible for driving customer engagement, sales execution, and long-term business planning to accelerate growth for Clorox’s portfolio of pet products. In this role, you will: Engage Our People as Business Owners: Coach, develop, and empower team members to maximize performance and career growth. Actively manage team succession planning and talent development, ensuring a strong pipeline of future leaders. Foster collaboration across the cross-functional customer team to drive accountability and results. Drive the Business: Own the design and execution of volume and sales plans to achieve and exceed annual targets. Leverage Assortment, Merchandising, Media, and Shelving to drive growth across key Pet Channel retailers. Ensure adherence to Clorox Sales Policy and partner with Supply Chain and Customer Operations to manage compliance. Monitor business performance, leveraging data and insights to inform strategies and course corrections. Customer Planning and Strategy: Lead a cross-functional 3-year business planning process, aligning Clorox’s Category and Customer Planning (CCP) with key Pet Channel retailers’ strategic planning. Co-develop (in partnership with Business Units and Pet Channel customers) strategies tailored to the pet specialty shopper, omnichannel growth priorities, and Clorox category leadership ambitions. Own the strategy, planning, and activation of Clorox’s ‘Back-to-Basics’ approach to drive sustainable growth in the Pet Channel. Manage customer budget deployment effectively to optimize trade investment and drive ROI. Build and maintain strong relationships with merchant teams at Chewy, PetSmart, Petco, and Pet Supplies Plus, as well as key independent pet retailers. Bring customer insights, consumer trends, and market dynamics to internal stakeholders to drive innovation and competitive advantage in the Pet Channel. What we look for: Deep understanding of the retail landscape, shopper dynamics, and Clorox’s go-to-market strategy in the pet category. Cross-functional leadership with the ability to drive alignment across internal and external stakeholders. Strong people management experience. Demonstrated ability of effectively leading, developing and coaching a team. Proven success in customer leadership, Joint Business Planning, and multi-year strategic planning. Consultative/Solution selling expertise with a track record of delivering results. Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence at all levels. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. 8-10 years of CPG experience in field/customer sales. Sales Planning (Internal Clorox) or similar experience. Familiarity with Pet Channel retail media, eCommerce, and omnichannel activation a plus. Workplace type: This role is open to qualified candidates that are located within a Clorox Hub area or remote.
