The USA Baseball retail department manages and oversees the brand’s official online shop, www.USABaseballShop.com, the Flagship USA Baseball Team Store located at the National Training Complex in Cary, N.C., and satellite stores at various USA Baseball events throughout the year. As a Retail Event Specialization Intern, you will report to the Senior Director, Retail, and the Coordinator, Retail. In this role, you will oversee and manage the setup, operations, and breakdown of the USA Baseball Team Store at the National Team Championships – Arizona. Your responsibilities will include recruiting and training event staff, managing inventory and merchandise logistics, ensuring high-quality customer service, and supporting administrative tasks related to retail operations.

IN THIS ROLE
- You will recruit, interview, hire, and train a staff of hourly associates to assist in the daily operations of the Team Store in Arizona.
- You will oversee inventory, shipping, and tracking of officially licensed merchandise for the USA Baseball National Team Championships – Arizona, from its shipment from North Carolina to the return of unsold merchandise at the event's conclusion.
- You will manage the complete setup and breakdown of the USA Baseball Team Store in Arizona within the event timeline.
- You will develop a thorough understanding of the Shopify Point of Sale system to ensure seamless retail operations.
- You will manage the USA Baseball Team Store in Arizona during the event, including opening and closing procedures, restocking, and maintaining visual merchandising standards.
- You will regularly monitor merchandise inventory and make necessary adjustments to meet event demands.
- You will provide excellent customer service to Team Store guests, offering product suggestions, answering inquiries, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- You will support the Senior Director, Retail, and the Coordinator, Retail Operations, by completing administrative tasks and providing additional assistance as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- You have at least one year of retail experience.
- You are highly organized with great attention to detail.
- You have strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- You are able to write and communicate clearly and effectively for a variety of audiences.
- You are flexible, adaptable, and willing to perform other tasks as assigned.
- You can lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- You have no availability conflicts during the position start and end dates.
- You are in pursuit of or have completed a bachelor’s degree.
- You can successfully complete a background check prior to employment.
