Key Responsibilities
- Waste Management: Classify, package, and coordinate the transportation of various waste types in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all waste handling and disposal activities meet environmental laws and guidelines.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of waste shipments, manifests, and disposal methods.
- Training: Provide training to staff on proper waste handling procedures and emergency response protocols.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for waste minimization and implement recycling initiatives.
- Business Strategy: Apply business acumen to develop cost-effective waste management solutions that align with organizational goals.
- Industry Collaboration: Work closely with refinery and petrochemical clients to address their unique waste management challenges.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in waste management, with a focus on transportation and disposal.
- Certifications: Strong knowledge of RCRA and DOT regulations.
- Skills: Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Business Acumen: Demonstrated ability to understand and apply basic business principles to environmental services, including cost analysis.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with refinery operations and the specific waste management needs of the petrochemical industry.
- Advanced Certifications: Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or equivalent.
- Experience: Familiarity with cradle-to-grave operations for large quantity generators.
