USA Football, founded in 2002, designs and delivers premier educational, developmental, and competitive programs to lead, strengthen, and grow the sport of football.

As the sport’s governing body, a member of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), and the United States’ sole delegate to the International Federation of American Football (IFAF), USA Football assembles and directs U.S. National Teams for international competition including IFAF championships and international multisport competitions such as The World Games and the 2028 Summer Olympic Games.

As an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit, we also partner with leaders in medicine, child advocacy, and athletics to support positive football experiences for youth through adult amateur players.

    Overview :

    We are seeking an experienced Director of Brand Experience to lead the creation, execution, and alignment of our brand strategy. This role requires a deep understanding of brand positioning, strategy development, and the operationalization of brand initiatives to ensure consistency across all areas of the organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience driving brand alignment within an organization and translating strategy into actionable plans that deliver measurable results.

    Key Responsibilities :

  • Brand Strategy Development & Alignment :
  • Craft a comprehensive brand strategy that reflects the organization’s mission, values, and goals while resonating with target audiences.

  • Define and refine the brand’s positioning, ensuring clarity and relevance in a competitive marketplace.
  • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to integrate brand strategy into all organizational initiatives, ensuring alignment across marketing, sales, operations, and communications.
  • Operationalizing the Brand :
  • Translate the brand strategy into actionable processes, tools, and frameworks that can be adopted organization-wide.

  • Develop and maintain brand guidelines and resources to enable consistent execution across all teams and channels.
  • Develop comprehensive brand campaigns that support the organization’s mission and governing body status.
  • Provide ongoing training and support to internal teams, ensuring a deep understanding of brand principles and their application in day-to-day operations.
  • Brand Execution & Consistency :
  • Lead the execution of brand initiatives, campaigns, and activations across social, digital, print, events, sponsor activations, and experiential platforms.

  • Collaborate with marketing, creative, and product teams to ensure cohesive storytelling and visual representation of the brand.
  • Evaluate and ensure brand consistency in customer experiences, communications, events, and external partnerships.
  • Act as the gatekeeper of all brand activations and executions including messaging and positioning.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration :
  • Work closely with senior leadership to advocate for and align brand objectives with organizational priorities.

  • Collaborate with teams across the organization to embed brand principles into product development, employee engagement, and customer interactions.
  • Measurement & Optimization :
  • Establish KPIs and metrics to evaluate brand performance, awareness, and perception.

  • Analyze performance data and market trends to refine strategies and improve brand effectiveness.
  • Monitor competitive and industry landscapes to ensure the brand remains relevant and innovative.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience in brand strategy development, operationalization, and management, with a focus on driving alignment across large or complex organizations.
  • Proven track record of creating and implementing successful brand strategies / campaigns that deliver measurable impact.
  • Extensive experience operationalizing brand initiatives and aligning internal teams to execute effectively.
  • Expertise in brand governance, including developing and maintaining brand guidelines and resources.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and inspire teams.
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects and working in a collaborative environment.
  • As required by the Equal Pay Transparency Act, USA Football provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, education, etc. The pay range for this position is as follows : $86,657 - $147,551.

    This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program. Must meet requirements.
