Position Overview:
We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join our team!
You will be responsible for conducting financial analysis, assisting with the preparation of financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, month end closing and assisting with budgeting and forecasting and other duties as assigned
Key Responsbilities
- Process vendor invoices accurately and ensure proper coding and approvals.
- Prepare and execute payments via checks, wires, and electronic transfers.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Assist in month-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
- Issue invoices to customers accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor overdue accounts and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Reconcile accounts receivable ledger and ensure all payments are properly applied.
- Prepare aging reports and analyze receivables to identify potential issues.
- Reconcile bank statements monthly and resolve any discrepancies.
- Maintain general ledger reconciliation and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Investigate and resolve variances between accounting records and external statements.
- Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in budget preparation and variance analysis.
- Compile and analyze financial data to support management decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Support external audit requirements and assist with audit preparations.
- Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Collaborate with other departments to achieve overall business objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- QuickBooks is a must & Syspro highly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations
- Experience in month end closing is must.
- CPA or CPA aspiring candidate is a plus
- Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
