What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Vehicle Driver position at USA Guided Tours?
USA Guided Tours LLC was founded in 2013 and is the top-rated sightseeing / transportation service provider in the National Capital Region. Our services, range from public and private sightseeing tours, to multi-forms of transportation.
We are looking to immediately hire drivers with valid CDL licenses. Successful candidates will have experience driving buses, as well as working with the public. NOTE: Candidate must successfully pass drug screening, fingerprints, and FBI background check (which includes a criminal record check (including arrest and conviction history), as well as traffic violations and parking tickets.
Responsibilities
- THIS JOB COULD POSSIBLE REQUIRE OVERNIGHT OUT OF STATE TRIPS OCCASSIONALLY.
- Transport guests along prescribed tour routes
- Throughout shift, maintain a clean and mechanically-sound bus
- Obey all traffic laws
- Perform inspections of the bus before and after each route (following Checklists)
- Ensure safety of all guests, students, etc.
- Keep Fleet Manager apprised of any issues - with vehicles, guests, etc.
- Attend scheduled safety, and other meetings
- If selected to work DC Public Schools contract: transport school-aged students to and from school; perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid as needed (training provided)
Requirements / Qualifications
- CDL license - with passenger endorsement
- DOT medical card with passenger endorsement
- 3 years’ experience driving a bus or commercial vehicle
- Extensive knowledge of Washington, DC and Northern Virginia local area/routes
- No at-fault traffic accidents within the last 5 years
- No traffic citations within the last 5 years
- Driver's license must be at least 12 months from renewal
- Weekend shifts
- Successful drug screening
- Ability to perform CPR and First Aid as needed (training provided)
- MUST sucessfully pass a FBI Background Check (detailed above)
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or GED, preferred
- Punctuality, reliability, and ability to carry out assigned routes on-time
- Excellent communication skills
- High-level Customer service skills
- Multilingual/Spanish fluency, a plus!
