We are currently hiring a Compliance Officer to oversee compliance and risk management within the organization. The officer will be responsible for ensuring that USA Gymnastics complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. The Officer will need a thorough understanding of compliance practices, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments and organizations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Develop, implement, revise, and monitor compliance programs, including Safety & Response program, to ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Conduct and manage compliance audits and risk assessments to identify areas of improvement.
- Ensure compliance with current federal, state, and local regulations applicable to sports organizations.
- Ensure compliance with USA Gymnastics policies, USOPC policies, SafeSport requirements, anti-doping rules, and other governing bodies' requirements.
- Develop and maintain internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance across all aspects of USA Gymnastics’ operations.
- Enforce compliance policies and recommend corrective actions when violations occur.
- Develop and conduct compliance training programs for staff, coaches, judges, and athletes to ensure awareness and understanding of compliance requirements.
- Foster a culture of compliance within the organization.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Sports Management, or a related field; advanced degree (JD, MBA, or equivalent) preferred.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or related fields, preferably in sports organizations.
- Strong knowledge of compliance regulations, including USA Gymnastics policies, SafeSport requirements, and USOPC requirements.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
