Job Description: Cardiac Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab) Registered Nurse (RN)
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiac Catheterization Lab team. As a Cath Lab RN, you will provide critical care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures. Your role will require you to work closely with physicians and other medical professionals to ensure the highest level of patient care in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Provide care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures, monitoring their health status before, during, and after the procedure. Ensure patients' safety and comfort throughout the procedure.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the cardiac team, assisting with procedures and providing necessary support.
- Equipment Handling: Operate cardiac equipment such as angioplasty catheters, stents, and other devices used in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient care and procedures, ensuring all details are documented as per hospital policy.
- Emergency Preparedness: Respond to emergencies, assist in patient resuscitation, and ensure a safe environment in the cath lab at all times.
Education, Licensure, and Certification:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
- Active, unencumbered Hawaii RN license (must have license at the time of application—pending or "willing to apply" will not be considered).
- BLS (Basic Life Support)/HCP (Healthcare Provider) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required (must be valid for the duration of the contract).
- Preferred: CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse), NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale), and CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certifications.
- Must pass an EKG exam with a score of 80% or greater during orientation.
Professional Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years of RN experience in a staff role prior to travel assignments.
- High volume cardiac catheterization lab experience in a large tertiary/quaternary medical center is highly desired.
- At least one (1) year of ICU experience required before transitioning to Cath Lab; CCU (Coronary Care Unit) or CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit) experience preferred.
Other Requirements:
- RTO (Requested Time Off): No RTO allowed during the initial contract period.
- Compliance: Full compliance documentation must be uploaded to the Medefis portal at least 10 days in advance of the assignment start date.
- Vaccinations: All travelers must be vaccinated for COVID-19 (vaccine or booster received in 2023 or later) and the current flu season (2024/2025) flu vaccine.
- Exemptions/Declinations: Exemptions or declinations for COVID or flu vaccinations will not be accepted for travel clinicians.

Pay: $2,200.00 - $2,500.00 per week
