Responsibilities
Multiple Positions Available
Designs, builds, configures, installs, and maintains enterprise software; researches, designs, implements, and manages software programs; tests and evaluates new programs; identifies areas for modification in existing programs and subsequently develops these modifications; writes and implement efficient code; determines operational practicality; develops quality assurance procedures; develops software tools, processes, and metrics; maintains and upgrades existing systems; develops training materials and trains users, when needed; works closely with IT staff, clinical staff, and administration; adheres to University and Health System policies including those related to confidentiality and HIPAA; maintains strong technical understanding of organizational EHR related systems to include Cerner, AthenaHealth, and Phillips; participates in on-call rotation; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours are required; related duties as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama; or a bachelor’s degree in business or related field from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and one year of computer programming or EHR build experience; or an Associate degree in computer programming, information technology, or related field with five years of computer programming or information technology experience – OR – high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of related experience in information technology.
