Responsibilities
Applies casts, braces, and splints; provides instructions to patients regarding the care of applied devices; educates patients on the signs and symptoms of possible complications; orders custom braces to include measuring, fitting, and educating patient on use; orders supplies as needed; performs KT-2000 testing; assists supervisor in maintaining inventory of cast room, linen, and cleaning supplies; maintains a clean work area; interacts with patients, faculty, and staff in person and by telephone; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as require; related duties as required.
Qualifications
Associates degree in orthopaedic technology from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama; or high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a one year program in orthopaedic technology and two years of experience as an orthopaedic technician; or high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience as an orthopaedic technician.
