Responsibilities
This is responsible independent clerical accounting work in maintaining complex accounting and financial records in a phase of an accounting program; an employee in a position allocated to this classification performs responsible independent clerical accounting work which involves preparing or supervising the preparation of routine and special accounting statements; maintains books of accounts involving varied and complex entries; carries out all accounting functions for a special fund or activity or assists a technical or administrative superior by carrying out all fiscal activities; work is performed under the direction of an administrative superior and is reviewed for results obtained; maintains complex records systems involving varied transactions, or relatively simple records involving a large number of transactions; maintains records and books of accounts in accordance with established procedures; prepares or supervises the preparation of routine and special accounting statements or analyses of accounting data; assembles or compiles data used in preparing budgets; may assist in the preparation of operating budgets; may supervise clerical accounting personnel performing routine audit work; utilizes an adding machine, calculator, typewriter and/or PC as well as other office equipment; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; related duties as required.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and three years bookkeeping or clerical accounting experience.
