Responsibilities
Develops and implements USA Health’s compensation plan, pay scale, and philosophy, and lead plan design and administration of Employee Compensation; ensures that employees are paid fairly and competitively, based on industry standards and organization policies; evaluates and participates in the setup, analysis and development of compensation programs, determining competitive wage rates and change as necessary; sets up job evaluation plan for new positions; manages all processes associated with compensation programs, including roll-out strategies, communication, planning and leading compensation review cycles, policy, and implementation; provides expertise, guidance, and education to leaders, managers and colleagues on our compensation programs; works with managers to help develop promotion and retention strategies for existing employees; performs analysis on special projects (e.g., organizational planning, compensation strategy, retention); responsbible for the job description managment system and regular review of active job descriptions for updates or compliance; develops a department budget and keeps operations within that budget; participates in the performance management process for direct reports; ensures company’s pay scale complies with state and federal laws and regulations; processes employee reward systems such as bonuses and retention plans; regularly participates in market data surveys and analyzes survey results to ensure organizational competitiveness; monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, structures and procedures recommending plan revisions that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends; collaborates with other department leaders such as University of South Alabama Payroll and USA Health Decision Support to ensure position set up is functional with supporting applications; oversees a team of compensation specialists; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required; related duties as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field and six years of related professional experience or three years of professional compensation experience. Experience in a managerial/supervisory capacity is preferred. A master’s degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.
