Responsibilities
This is supervisory and/or highly independent professional accounting work exercising accounting control over a variety of accounts and funds; an employee in a position allocated to this classification is responsible for supervising the activities of a group of accountants or independently carrying out highly specialized accounting work; supervises and/or participates in the analysis of general ledger accounts; prepares financial statements, annual budgets and monthly journal vouchers; work is performed under the supervision of an administrative superior and is reviewed for achievement of desired results; exercises accounting control over a variety of accounts and funds; supervises and/or participates in the analysis of general ledger accounts using a PC and calculator; supervises and/or participates in the preparation of detailed financial statements; supervises and/or participates in the preparation of operating and capital equipment budgets; supervises and/or participates in the preparation of monthly journal vouchers; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required; related duties as required.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in accounting from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and three years of professional accounting experience. A master’s degree in accounting may be substituted for one year of the required experience. |
