Responsibilities
This is highly responsible clerical and administrative position which assists the Clerkship Director in overseeing all aspects of the third year clerkship within a clinical department within the College of Medicine; work is performed under the supervision of a higher level position and is reviewed upon completion for achievement of desired results; serves as primary resource and liaison to students, faculty, residents, community faculty, sites, and school administration for any issues or questions related to medical student clerkships; provides primary support to the clerkship director in matters relating to the clerkship, and functions as his/her representative, as requested; oversees the daily operations of the clerkship program office for assigned department(s) which may include: organizing and prioritizing necessary tasks, initiating changes and resolving issues, staying abreast of curricular goals, policies, and standards of the clerkship, department and medical school; ensures compliance with accrediting agency guidelines; creates and maintains clerkship records; participates in the grading process and prepares final grades for submission; assists in the recruiting and retention of clerkship faculty; monitors the student evaluation process; prepares data analysis reports using various software; develops clerkship program schedules and guidelines for distribution; participates in institutional, departmental, community, or national meetings; prepares clerkship materials; proctors National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) or other required examinations; participates in the preparation of LCME accreditation materials; coordinates special events related to the clerkship; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; performs related duties as required.
Qualifications
High school diploma and four years of related experience. Experience in an academic setting is highly preferred. Higher education can substitute for the required experience.
