Responsibilities:
This leader will be adaptable, enthusiastic, and creative to keep learner placements optimal. This person will manage healthcare learner coordinators and profile management software; scheduling, space, and budgeting. Strong advocacy and relational leadership skills are required to collaborate across disciplines and promote change and innovation. developing and implementing quality and research based corrective action plans, and facilitating and fostering outreach aspects associated with maintaining best practice and promotion of clinical success. This coordinator demonstrates leadership abilities, problem solving capabilities, clear and effective communication skills, and the ability to function independently in a complex health care environment. The coordinator demonstrates the ability to establish and sustain effective relationships with stakeholders and educational partners.
This position is responsible for the effective implementation of policies and procedures for approval and coordination of students and other types of learners at USA Health (or that utilize a USA Health facility for learning experiences); coordinate with the appropriate persons and/or entities to gain approvals or denials for learners to complete learning experiences within USA Health’s facilities; identify and be able to discern between student types and understand how to process/coordinate accordingly; create and maintain a registry of all potential learning environments (to include spaces, preceptors, and available learner slots); create and maintain a list of all learners at USA Health; collaborate with USA Health’s and other appropriate legal departments to ensure up-to-date clinical affiliation agreements and certificates of liability insurance are current and active for all learners; collect appropriate documentation required for student learners (included, but not limited to, vaccinations and other required information); initiate the assigning of, and will verify/document the completion of, required education and/or modules for all qualified learners; continually create, maintain, and optimize processes for learner coordination; perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Healthcare Learner Coordination and/or the Director of Staff Development, including but not limited to, tracking and assigning educational assignments in HealthStream, and other secretarial type duties; create and help maintain organized digital files/records for learner coordination, as well as other items for the department; Effectively manages human resources. Creates an environment conducive to recruiting and retaining staff. Applies organizational policy and procedures in hiring, promoting, transferring and terminating staff. Provides staff with annual performance feedback and opportunity to set professional goals; Experience using programs in the Microsoft Office Suite like Excel, Forms, and Word; experience using Adobe products is a plus (creating pdfs, etc); must be able to multitask and work with a variety of professionals within and outside of USA Health (required);regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; related duties as required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, administration, or a related field, two years of related experience and two years of leadership experience. Experience in a healthcare and/or academic setting preferred.
