Responsibilities
The Perinatal Coordinator prepares, coordinates, and/or provides education for obstetric patients planning to deliver their infant at USA Health Children's & Women's Hospital using available evidence and consistent with principles of adult learning; plans and delivers educational offerings based upon best available evidence, that is consistent with principles of adult learning, and tailoring the methodologies to the content as well as the size of the class and learning needs of the target audience; evaluates effectiveness of educational offerings; revises educational offerings based upon evaluation feedback; serves obstetric committees in data collection and interpretation, serves as patient contact for post discharge monitoring to support patient experience and improved maternal health in our community; committee/meeting participation includes the following and may not be limited to education, evidence-based practice, policy and procedure, unit staff meetings, and nurse shared governance; assists with and/or authors policies and procedures when required; understands and supports evidence-based clinical decision making; facilitates collection of data for use in quality improvement findings, utilization, and productivity metrics; collaborates in determining process and practices related to care of the patient prior to and after discharge; implements relevant interventions, evaluating the effectiveness of the processes, and adjusting based upon the evaluation; serves as liaison for patient and provider practices; organizes, teaches, and/or delegates to qualified staff with expertise in the content; childbirth education courses to prepare the patient for her labor experience; serves as an administrator for online education platforms operated by USA Health Children's & Women's Hospital; may plan and host events in support of Obstetric and Gynecologic health, to include, but not limited to, Rachel's Gift Angel Dash, The Basics, and March for Babies; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and five years of experience -OR- bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of nursing and two years of experience. Current Alabama RN license or current Multi-State RN License in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) for Alabama.

Salary : $57,900 - $73,300
