Responsibilities
Assists Manager and Director with selection of third party vendor service software/hardware for USA Health to include hardware configuration, hardware installation, software delivery, installation coordination, network configuration and installation; provides continuing operational support for server, SAN and virtual application hardware and software; assists with server hardware and software upgrades; troubleshoots technical software operating and network problems; modifies system or other files as required; assists in evaluation, selection, implementation, and maintenance of network systems (software/hardware) to in include Storage Area Network (SAN); participates in the planning, implementation, and management of data back-up and recovery to include nightly data back-ups, run in a tiered architecture of full back-ups and incremental back-ups; assists in administering a server-based desktop computing environment to include Citrix Administrator, VMWare server and Horizon View Desktop, Microsoft Server 2003, 2008, 2008R and 2012; provides instruction and training for departmental personnel to operate/maintain/back-up server; assists with development of user training materials and operator instruction; applies upgrades for servers, network appliances and all visualization environments; assists with network installations and problem resolution; adheres to hospital policies including confidentiality; participates in on call support for hospital systems; communicates and works effectively with other staff and vendors; documents training materials and procedures and trains personnel; maintains adequate documentation for auditor requests; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required; related duties as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer information science or related field from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and two years of progressively responsible experience as a systems administrator or a systems analyst OR an associate’s degree in computer information science or related field from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and five years of progressively responsible experience as a systems administrator or systems analyst.
Certification in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) methodology is highly preferred.
