Position overview:
As a warehouse team member most of your day-to-day tasks include preparing orders, completing inventory checks, cleaning, maintaining equipment, using outlook emails, using Microsoft word, speaking and assisting to customers in person and over the phone.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday (8:00am - 4:30pm)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Order management:
· Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to priorities (pick, check, pack, wrap, label, ship).
· Pick items from shelves using a ladder or forklift.
· Check your teammates orders for accuracy to ensure the right items were pulled for their order.
· Pack items securely into boxes.
· Pack and wrap items onto pallets and/or crates.
· Create labels using UPS for all parcel orders.
· Assist customers who pick up orders by taking items to their car and treating them with respect and kindness.
· Use outlook to receive orders at the shipstation and print them out.
· Use Outlook to communicate dimensions and weights of certain orders in which the customer is scheduling the pickup and creating documentation.
· Follow up on LTL shipments that do not get picked up on the designated date.
· Follow up on will-call shipments that do not get picked up on the designated date.
Inventory control:
· Complete stock checks for customers.
·Complete cycle count sheets.
· Monitor inventory levels of shelf products to maintain full stock.
· Address to your lead and investigate any discrepancies or items found in wrong locations/bins.
· Receive and process warehouse stock products (unload, check, label, store, document)
· Immediately receives all freight deliveries in the presence of the delivery agent.
· Immediately report any shortages and/or product damage to your supervisor and delivery agent.
· Consolidate crates
· Consolidate items on shelves
Operational efficiency:
· Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
· Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers.
· Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment.
· Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations.
· Ensure organization of working areas and the shipstation.
Safety compliance:
· Enforce and follow all safety regulations and procedures within the warehouse.
· Conduct safety inspections and address potential hazards.
· Use proper lifting techniques and equipment operation.
Working conditions at Peak Industrial:
In the warehouse position, you will be subject to working in an outdoor warehouse, not air conditioned, but has air circulation with fans. You may also be working inside in an air conditioned office at times. Inside the office is also a breakroom/kitchen available to you.
You must be able to:
·Sit for short periods of time while using office equipment such as computers and phones
· Stand for long periods of time during the workday up to 8 hours.
· Walk/move for long periods of time during the workday up to 8 hours.
· Movement of wrists, hands and fingers while picking, pinching and typing during your normal working environment.
· Express or exchange ideas with others through the use of spoken word, quickly, accurately, and at an easily audible volume, and receive detailed information through oral communication at usual speaking levels without correction, and/or make fine discriminations in the nature of sounds in the environment.
· Repetitively lift, carry and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
· Repetitively push and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance while kneeling, squatting, reaching about the head, reaching at the waist, reaching below the knees and bending at the knees
· Repetitively push and pull manual transport equipment (for example, pallet jack or hand truck) containing product loads up to a minimum of 100 yards without assistance
·Ability to maintain and operate an electric forklift and obtain a forklift certification (if you are not currently certified, we have someone onsite who is able to conduct trainings and certify you)
· Repetitively grasp and manipulate objects of varying size and weight requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
· Exert oneself physically over sustained periods of time to complete job activities
· Read information in small, medium and large print
· Frequently work in a hot/humid outdoor environment

Minimum qualifications:
· Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
· Be comfortable to operate a forklift.
· Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
· Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
· Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently.
· Skill in communicating with others
· Skill in working on a team and maintaining a sense of teamwork
· Skill in applying basic mathematics to warehouse tasks
· Skill in safely operating motorized warehouse equipment
· Skill in applying fundamental principles of position while loading and stocking
· Ability to work at heights of up to 30 feet in the air
· Flexibility and willingness to take on other assignments as initial assignment slows or is completed
· Close visual acuity to perform detail oriented activities at distances close to the eyes, as well as visual acuity to perform activities at or within arm’s reach with skill, control, and accuracy, such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer screen and expansive reading.
· Knowledge of warehouse safety practices and procedures.
· Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
· Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Have at least a High School diploma or GED
· Have a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License
· Certified Forklift License a plus.
What is the hiring process?

- In person interview – You will come into the work location and conduct an interview with 2 supervisors. This interview will start with a 40-minute general math and critical thinking skills assessment. If you are proficient in completing this assessment, then the interview will begin.
- Shadowing - You will receive an email letting you know if you have made it to the next step which is to come in for about 2 hours and feel out the work environment and see what the job entails for, so you and us can both get a better feel if this is the place for you.
