Peak Industrial group is looking for a warehouse lead with proven experience in a lead role, and experience in warehousing. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who has a positive attitude, strong leadership skills, a strong desire to learn, challenges themself, takes ownership of responsibilities, keen attention to detail, and most importantly; someone who wants to grow themself.

 

 

Position overview:

In the warehouse lead position you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the warehouse team, while also working with them to complete tasks. In our lead position, you are still responsible for completing the warehouse tasks, while also overseeing the warehouse team as well as additional responsibilities that only you are accountable for. You are expected to set a prime example for the warehouse team and lead them to success by providing constant feedback when needed, and training.

 

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Supervisory duties:

· Assign and delegate tasks and manage a team of warehouse workers.

· Train new employees on proper procedures and safety protocols.

· Monitor performance, provide feedback (negatives and positives) with team members.

· Mentor and be a golden role model for warehouse team members.

· Act as back-up support for warehouse supervisor as needed.

· Progress to more varied and complex activities with development of additional knowledge and experience within the role.

· Monitor workflow to meet deadlines and performance goals.

 

Order management:

· Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to priorities (pick, check, pack, wrap, label, ship).

· Enter orders in the computer online into our processing system (Quickbooks).

· Check all orders for accuracy before they are closed up.

· Ensure all parcel and LTL orders are picked and packed properly before exiting the warehouse.

· Ensure all orders are completed before the deadline and make it out on the promised ship date.

· Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and preparation for all orders.

· Follow up on LTL shipments that do not get picked up on the designated date.

· Follow up on will-call shipments that do not get picked up on the designated date.

· Create BOL’s and schedule LTL pick-ups based on delivery deadlines.

· Complete and/or delegate stock checks for customers

 

Inventory control:

· Use our processing system (Quickbooks) to find the location and quantities of items.

· Monitor inventory levels of shelf products to maintain full stock.

· Implement inventory control using our processing system (Quickbooks) (cycle counting and shelf restocking).

· Address and investigate any discrepancies or stock shortages.

· Receive and process warehouse stock products (unload, check, label, store, document)

· Complete inventory diary logs.

· Report any unsolved discrepancies to your manager.

· Immediately receives all freight deliveries in the presence of the delivery agent.

· Immediately report any shortages and/or product damage to supervisor and delivery agent.

 

Operational efficiency:

· Optimize warehouse workflow to ensure timely order processing and shipping.

· Identify and implement process improvements to enhance workflow efficiency.

· Monitor warehouse performance metrics related to orders.

· Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.

· Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers.

· Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment.

· Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations.

· Ensure organization of stock and the shipstation.

 

Safety compliance:

· Enforce all safety regulations and procedures within the warehouse.

· Conduct safety inspections and address potential hazards.

· Train employees on proper lifting techniques and equipment operation.

 

 

 

 

Working conditions at Peak Industrial:

As the warehouse lead, you will be subject to working in an outdoor warehouse, not air conditioned, but has air circulation with fans. You will also be working inside in an air conditioned office.

 

You must be able to:

·Sit for long periods of time while using office equipment such as computers and phones

· Stand for long periods of time during the workday up to 8 hours.

· Walk/move for long periods of time during the workday up to 8 hours.

· Movement of wrists, hands and fingers while picking, pinching and typing during your normal working environment.

· Express or exchange ideas with others through the use of spoken word, quickly, accurately, and at an easily audible volume, and receive detailed information through oral communication at usual speaking levels without correction, and/or make fine discriminations in the nature of sounds in the environment.

· Repetitively lift, carry and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance

· Repetitively push and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance while kneeling, squatting, reaching about the head, reaching at the waist, reaching below the knees and bending at the knees

· Repetitively push and pull manual transport equipment (for example, pallet jack or hand truck) containing product loads up to a minimum of 100 yards without assistance

·Ability to maintain and operate an electric forklift and obtain a forklift certification (if you are not currently certified, we have someone onsite who is able to conduct trainings and certify you)

· Repetitively grasp and manipulate objects of varying size and weight requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination

· Exert oneself physically over sustained periods of time to complete job activities

· Read information in small, medium and large print

· Frequently work in a hot/humid outdoor environment

Minimum qualifications:

· Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar supervisory role.

· Strong leadership and supervisory skills.

· Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

· Be comfortable to operate a forklift.

· Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age

· Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future

· Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently.

· Skill in communicating with others

· Skill in working on a team and maintaining a sense of teamwork

· Skill in applying basic mathematics to warehouse tasks

· Skill in safely operating motorized warehouse equipment

· Skill in applying fundamental principles of position while loading and stocking

· Ability to work at heights of up to 30 feet in the air

· Flexibility and willingness to take on other assignments as initial assignment slows or is

· Close visual acuity to perform detail oriented activities at distances close to the eyes, as well as visual acuity to perform activities at or within arm’s reach with skill, control, and accuracy, such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer screen and expansive reading.

· Knowledge of warehouse safety practices and procedures.

· Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment.

· Basic computer skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

· Have at least a High School diploma or GED

· Have a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License

· Certified Forklift License a plus.

 

 

 

 

What is the hiring process?

  1. Online application – You submit your resume online to us
  2. Phone interview request – You will receive an email requesting a phone interview (please allow up to 3 full business days once you submit your resume to receive this email)
  3. Phone interview – We will have a brief 5-10 minute phone interview so we can both get a better feel and understanding of you and our position
  4. Follow up – After the phone interview you will receive an email letting you know if we want to schedule an in-person interview or letting you know that we will not be moving forward in the hiring process (please allow up to 24 hours to receive this email)
  5. In person interview – You will come into the work location and conduct an interview with 2 supervisors. This interview will start with a 40-minute general math and critical thinking skills assessment. If you are proficient in completing this assessment, then the interview will begin.
  6. Hired or not hired – You will receive an email letting you know if you have been selected or not selected for the position, or if we need more time because we have other applicants set up for interviews (please allow up to 5 business days to receive this email)
  7. Background check and paperwork - If you accept the position offer, we will then need to conduct a background check which usually takes 1-7 days. During this time you will also need to fill out the necessary paperwork and provide the requested legal documentations.
  8. Start – Once your background check comes back with nothing unexpected we can give you a start date, which typically will be the first Monday after the background check is complete.

 

 

 

Full time employee benefits:

Benefits upon 30-days from employment:

-Health Insurance – Multiple plans with Florida Blue, with the company paying $310.00 monthly.

-Dental, Vision, STD & LTD are available at the employee’s expense.

 

Benefits after 90 days:

-3% Company paid 401(k) Safe Harbor contribution.

-Personal Time Off/Sick Days – three (3) days after ninety (90) days.

-Annual Benefits: Vacation – One (1) week after one (1) year, with escalations after that.
