USA Softball is seeking a talented Front-End Developer to join our IT team and play a key role in building a cutting-edge digital ecosystem. Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the front-end of the Platform, ensuring a seamless, mobile-responsive, and interactive user experience using React.
- Collaborate with the back-end developer to integrate APIs for dynamic content delivery.
- Work closely with graphic designers to implement designs that adhere to USA Softball’s branding guidelines.
- Optimize the platform for speed, performance, and scalability.
- Ensure accessibility (ADA compliance) and cross-browser compatibility.
- Communicate effectively with team members via Microsoft Teams to stay aligned with project goals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve front-end issues promptly.
- Participate in weekly team meetings and provide input on project planning and timelines.
Skills and Experience

- Expertise in React and strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Experience with responsive design frameworks like Bootstrap or Tailwind CSS.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Understanding of API integration and data fetching using RESTful APIs or GraphQL.
Design and Optimization:
- Knowledge of UI/UX best practices, including interactivity and mobile responsiveness.
- Ability to translate graphic designs into functional web interfaces.
Communication and Teamwork:
- Experience with team collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams.
- Proactive in providing suggestions to improve user experience and system functionality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 2 years of experience in front-end development, with a focus on building interactive, user-centric platforms.
- Demonstrated portfolio of responsive and dynamic websites or applications.
- Experience working with APIs and integrating external data sources.
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., JIRA) is a plus.
Goals for the Role
- Phase 1 Delivery: Develop the Athlete and Parent portals as part of the MVP, ensuring interactive and mobile-responsive functionality by the targeted launch date.
- Integration: Seamlessly integrate APIs to deliver dynamic content from partners like NCSA, IMG, and others.
- Interactivity: Implement clickable icons, dynamic elements, and engaging features that align with the platform’s goal of being “fun and engaging.”
- Scalability: Write clean, modular code that supports future phases of the project, including premium subscriptions and additional portals for coaches, umpires, and associations.
