Job Description
The Assistant Coach, Women’s National Sitting Team (WNST) is a regular full-time position reporting to the Women’s Head Coach/Program Director, Sitting National Team. Cross departmental support is expected of all positions. Extensive domestic and international travel is expected. Extended hours may be required to include nights, weekends, and holidays. Requirements
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:
Assist the WSNT Head Coach in training resident athletes and non-resident athletes
Athlete Development & Training
· Partner with the Head Coach to train and develop both resident and non-resident athletes.
· Assist in creating and implementing periodized training plans and daily practice sessions.
· Provide individualized coaching and video analysis for technical skill development.
· Support strength and conditioning programs and coordinate with medical staff for athlete care.
· Facilitate remote training for non-resident athletes through virtual sessions and feedback.
Program Management & Operations
· Assist in recruiting, evaluating, and selecting athletes for the National Team program.
· Support budget management, including athlete stipends and program expenditures.
· Coordinate team logistics for competitions, camps, clinics, and tryouts.
· Assist in managing resident program housing and administrative requirements.
· Contribute to the development and enforcement of team policies and athlete handbook.
Performance Analysis & Innovation
· Collaborate on statistical analysis and video review to enhance team performance.
· Help develop and implement opponent scouting programs.
· Create personalized video training programs for individual athlete development.
· Translate performance data into practical training applications.
· Support team performance reviews through data-driven evaluation.
Team Support & Administration
· Assist in planning the annual competitive schedule and Paralympic preparation.
· Coordinate with external consultants and support staff.
· Contribute to media relations, record-keeping, and program promotion.
· Support the Head Coach in achieving program objectives and performance targets.
· Participate in strategic planning initiatives for the sitting volleyball program.
· Other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree required - Sports Administration, Coaching, Physiology, Exercise Science, Education, or related field preferred.
· Minimum three (3) years coaching at the elite junior, collegiate, national, or international level; or the equivalent in competition and sport management. Previous work with Paralympic programs desirable.
· Proven ability to promote sport performance.
· Experience with volleyball statistical software desirable.
· Demonstrated leadership of athletes and support staff.
· Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills.
· Strong customer service skills.
· Must successfully pass a USAV background screen (prior to hire date).
· Must complete SafeSport training within two weeks of hire date and keep current as a condition of continued employment.
Salary: $70,000 - $75,000
