Job Description
The Boys Indoor Lead, National Team Development Program (NTDP) is a regular full-time position reporting to the Senior Manager, NTDP. This position will assume a critical role in coordinating our efforts to identify, recruit, and accelerate the development of high potential youth volleyball players for the ultimate purpose of strengthening future Senior National Teams and improving international competitiveness across Olympic and Paralympic Disciplines of the game.

As our Senior National Teams prepare to compete for gold in Los Angeles, the National Team Development Program (NTDP) has been set in motion to support the development of future generations of American volleyball players that will successfully compete against the best teams in the world. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a growth mindset and the aptitude to manage multiple tasks.
Frequent domestic travel in support of NTDP events will be expected for this position. International travel in support of age group national team competitions may vary on a year-to-year basis. Cross departmental collaboration and support is a general expectation of all USAV employees. Extended hours may be required to include nights, weekends and holidays. This position is located in Colorado Springs/Denver Metro Area and may telecommute.
Requirements
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:
- Support the organization of NTDP Training Series for Boys Indoor to provide differentiated and developmentally appropriate training and competition experiences for selected athletes.
- Lead Boys Indoor program logistics for regional/local Accelerator events to include program locations, contracts for hosts, registrations, transportation, and on-site operations.
- Serve as Team Leader for Age Group National Teams for domestic training and international competitions, including management of logistics, travel, and athlete oversight.
- Support the coordination of athlete ranking and selection per Scout Network recommendations.
- Critically evaluate current processes for areas of improvement to maximize benefit to our athletes and the sport of volleyball.
- Support the invitation and recruitment of selected athletes.
- Support the implementation of athlete feedback and evaluation initiatives including process development and creation of feedback reports.
- Communicate effectively with NTDP athletes, families, coaches, staff, and USAV stakeholders.
- Support warehouse activities related to NTDP program VIK as needed.
- Respond or appropriately direct help desk tickets for NTDP stakeholders.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a sport development, related field or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience is required.
- Minimum of 3 years in sports administration is preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of holistic youth development is required. This includes but is not limited to technical, tactical, physical, and mental/psychological development of youth sport athletes.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to work within a team.
- Must successfully pass a USAV background screen (prior to hire date).
- Must complete SafeSport training within two weeks of hire date and keep current as a condition of continued employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Work or internship experience within a youth, collegiate, professional, or Olympic sports organization(s) is preferred.
- Volleyball coaching and/or playing experience is not required but will be positively considered.
Salary: $55,000 - $58,656
