Warehouse Staff - E-Commerce Focus
Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient warehouse staff member with strong knowledge of e-commerce logistics, including experience with inbound and outbound shipments, palletizing, and familiarity with Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) and Fulfilled by Merchant (FBM) processes. The ideal candidate will be proficient in warehouse operations, with a focus on inventory accuracy, meeting KPIs, and ensuring timely deliveries to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Inbound Shipments:
- Receive, inspect, and process incoming stock and materials.
- Verify shipments against purchase orders or other documentation.
- Record and update inventory levels in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Ensure products are properly labeled and stored in designated locations.
Outbound Shipments:
- Pick and pack orders for shipment based on e-commerce platform or marketplace requirements.
- Ensure accuracy in order picking and packing to prevent errors.
- Coordinate shipments with designated carriers for timely delivery.
- Prepare shipping documents, including labels, packing slips, and invoices.
Palletizing & Shipping Preparation:
- Organize and palletize products for bulk shipping or large orders.
- Use material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks for transporting goods.
- Ensure all palletized items are secure and comply with shipping regulations.
Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) & Fulfilled by Merchant (FBM):
- Assist with FBA inventory management, ensuring shipments meet Amazon’s guidelines for preparation and labeling.
- Monitor inventory levels for FBM orders and ensure timely fulfillment of merchant-managed orders.
- Coordinate and optimize shipments to Amazon FBA warehouses, maintaining compliance with Amazon’s requirements.
Warehouse Logistics:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse environment.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines for handling inventory.
- Manage stock rotation to minimize losses and ensure freshness (if applicable).
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to optimize workflow and reduce downtime.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Achieve and exceed KPIs such as order accuracy, shipping speed, inventory accuracy, and on-time delivery rates.
- Regularly report on performance metrics and identify areas for process improvement.
- Adhere to company standards for quality control and operational efficiency.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, preferably in an e-commerce or retail setting.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
- Knowledge of e-commerce platforms (Amazon, Shopify, etc.), including FBA and FBM processes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment and inventory management.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude to resolve issues quickly.
- Basic understanding of KPIs and how they relate to warehouse performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification for forklift operation or other material handling equipment.
- Experience with barcoding and scanning systems for inventory tracking.
- Previous experience in a high-volume e-commerce fulfillment environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods during shifts.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and sometimes physically demanding environment.
