Workforce Scheduling Job Summary The Business Systems Analyst gathers business requirements and translates them into functional and technical requirements within the appropriate application systems, in some cases serving as a technical liaison between the IT enterprise business solutions development team and the business community. Analysis and configuration of application systems, modifying existing systems to improve workflow or to serve new purposes is critical in this role. Incumbent is responsible for ensuring functionality, user acceptance and effective implementation of changes is met to solve problems, achieve business requirements and improve system performance. Requirements EDUCATION Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Healthcare Management or related field. In lieu of degree, five (5) years' health related non-clerical experience with an insurance, managed care, healthcare or technology related organization will be considered. EXPERIENCE Minimum three (3) years' business systems analysis experience with a complex system technology. OR applicable Masters in related field with minimum one (1) years' experience. In-depth knowledge of insurance technology systems such as claims processing, marketing, membership, enrollment, customer service, financial and provider systems. Skills Analytical Skills (Inactive), Detail-Oriented, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Oral Communication (Inactive), Relationship Building, Technical Skills (Inactive), Written Communication Responsibilities Assists in the design of new projects and programs by evaluating current practices, while conferring with management in order to define scope of work, purpose, goals and objectives, timelines and resource requirements for implementation., Assists with developing test scripts, executing test plans and maintaining test cases to assess system functionality and ensure user acceptance testing., Collaborates with various internal departments, analysts, development teams, external customers, and leadership to obtain cross functional team consensus on the interpretation of business requirements and needs., Develops enterprise business solution systems requirement documents and technical specification documents for applications, which may also be used to assist user groups with the development and delivery of training programs or presentations. Conducts training of new procedures, system modifications and system releases upon request., Integrates data from multiple data sources or functional areas, ensures data accuracy and integrity, and updates data as needed to develop statistics and design methodologies to be used for decision making and new business initiatives., Performs other duties as assigned., Performs root-cause analysis and audits to verify workflow and identify process improvements. Confers with internal and external customers to identify system requirements. Configure system through the use of logic statements and devise effective solutions to these problems and new opportunities., Prepares reports and data delivery by analyzing and summarizing the information and trends to make recommendations regarding system changes., Serves as a technical resource to guide the research, design, development, testing, documentation, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of new enterprise business solution systems and enhancement of existing systems to meet business needs., Serves as project lead on small to medium scale projects.
