Job description:
As an integral member of USAI Lighting’s Product Management team, the Product Documentation Specialist is responsible for maintaining technical product specification documentation for our extensive line of architectural lighting products. A keen attention to detail, dedication to accuracy, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment is critical for this role. This position is based in our headquarters in New Windsor, NY and reports to the Director of Product Management.
essential TASKS of this position include:
· Create and maintain published product documentation, including comprehensive product specification sheets, user guides, installation guides, and other technical documents.
· Update existing documents: work with engineering and product management to track product changes, and regularly review and update related documentation to reflect product changes and improvements.
· Understand ordering table logic, technical wiring diagrams, and technical step by step instructions to create or update documents
· Provide user support: assist users by providing clear and concise documentation that helps them understand and use the product effectively. Anticipate and eliminate potential points of confusion in product specifications and installation instructions to ensure a wide range of audiences have a painless product experience
· Collaborate with teams: work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure accuracy. Own responsibility for accuracy and completeness of technical documentation published online and on internal networks
· Provide support for USAI’s internal sales teams to satisfy customer documentation requests
· Use various documentation tools and software to create and manage documents.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree in a technical field of study
· Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, including grammar, spelling, and proof reading
· Strong organizational and time management skills: you are a self-starter, thorough, and detail-oriented who can set priorities and organize workload for efficiency
· Proficient with all relevant core software tools (MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), and AutoCAD)
· Experience with website programming and maintenance is helpful but not required
· Experience with image editing is a plus
· Previous experience in technical writing or documentation, preferably in a related industry, is beneficial but not required for the right candidate
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,500.00 - $70,000.00 per year
