Library Technician NF-02.

Duties

• Provides technician support by performing a wide variety of services to the public.
• Registers patrons, charges/discharges materials, processes overdue(s) and reserves.
• Assist with interlibrary loans and reserves.
• Shelf library materials, prepare displays and program activities.
• Assist customers in locating materials; and/or provide technical support in a variety of functions: basic/copy cataloging, ordering/receiving/processing and de-acquisitioning of library materials.
• Assist in maintaining accountability records and in performing shelf inventories. Perform simple maintenance on the library's automated systems.

• Must attend Team Member Orientation within the first 30 days of employment.
• This is a flexible position. Flexible positions have no hours. A flexible employee serves in a continuing position on a scheduled or as needed basis.
• This position has varying rotating shifts and must be willing to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Incumbent may also require completing a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.
• Incumbent may perform physical exertion such as long periods of standing, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, pushing of loaded trucks; and recurring lifting of heavy items such as boxes of books or journals.
  
  

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade. Or

Two years of education above high school. Or

A combination of specialized experience and education that equates to 100% of the qualification requirements.

PCS Costs

• Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
  
  

Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials

• This is a pay-banded position.
• Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
• Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
