USA Track and Field’s national office, located in Indianapolis, Indiana, is pleased to offer a qualified college student a For-Credit Externship opportunity during the 2024 Spring Semester. This externship opportunity is for students who will receive credit towards their academic requirements as part of participating in this educational program. The externship is unpaid and externs are not entitled to employment with USATF at the conclusion.

Time Frame/Schedule: (Spring Semester) Students are expected to begin and end their externship in accordance with their school's Spring semester dates. Ideally, we are looking for students who require a full-time externship experience as part of their educational program requirements. They must receive college credit.
All candidates must be able to pass a background check and drug test and be fully vaccinated for COVID 19. All candidates must be 21 years of age or older by the start date of the externship. Program Description:
Externs will receive exposure to multiple departments of the USATF but the focus will be in the area of International Teams Processing for the majority of the semester.
Externs will experience the in-office and onsite support process of the International Teams Department including but not limited to the USOPC long list entry process for the Olympic Games, national team processing, packing and shipping of uniforms for teams. Externs will learn our systems for organization, monitoring, and inventory of all national team uniforms and supplies, including accounting for deliveries and shipments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently 21 years or older.
- A senior or recent graduate.
- Ability to manage complex schedules, prioritize workloads and handle multiple projects.
- Demonstrated initiative and the ability to adapt to and embrace change.
- Strong team player and ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Proven Microsoft Office experience with a strong proficiency in Excel.
- Must be able to pass a background check and complete the USATF Safe Sport course.
