Your role:
The pack utility is involved in all the activities in the Packing Department. The primary responsibilities include maintaining sanitation, performing backup to operators, staging packing supplies, and packing totes as needed. You will receive training as needed to perform the operational duties, which provides great opportunities for advancement.

Your responsibilities:
Maintain sanitation in assigned areas of the plant by cleaning and by fixing leaks. Areas may include floors, equipment, roofs, over-head areas, and outside grounds.
Specialized cleaning tasks such as working sifters and filter sock changes.
Crosstrain and be available for coverage of packers and palletizers.
Support the packing lines by getting packing materials staged and ready, covering during breaks/lunches, and other tasks as needed.
Comply with GMP, HACCP, Food Safety, Food Defense, Sanitation and Regulatory mandates.
Any other duties as assigned, including but not limited to attending safety meetings.
Essential skills and experience:
High School Diploma or GED.
Has demonstrated the ability to work within a diverse group, communicate effectively, motivate others, foster teamwork, and exhibit self-control and awareness.
Experience with OSHA, food safety rules, and regulations.
Basic computer skills.
Excellent Communication Skills - written and verbal.
Ability to prioritize, coordinate and accomplish multiple tasks.

Experience in a production setting.
Experience working in a team environment.
Experience driving forklifts.

Physical requirements and working conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation):
Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as is required by the operating areas (i.e. safety glasses, protective footwear, hearing protection and, at times, a respirator)
Ability to work a rotating schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
Ability to work a machine paced continuous process that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with conditions which include:
Heat/Cold temperatures (inclement weather)
Indoor/Outdoor environment
Dusty environment
Noisy environment
Frequent moving/vibration/ or other motion of equipment/processes
Elevated Places

This role provides the opportunity for advancement into other operator roles.
Team members must be clean shaven in order to perform tasks where respiratory protection is required and the use of a respirator (including N-95 dust mask) requires a proper seal for adequate protection.

COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION:We provide market-driven base pay, based on skills, abilities, and level of experiences. Our salary ranges are broad, and individual salary will be market competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of skills and level of experience. The starting range for this position is $16.20 - $21.55, with additional earning potential possible commensurate with experience. Additionally, we believe that our team members are the reason for our success and all team members are incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and individual results achieved.
