Position Summary:
The Director of Safety will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive safety programs across both the self-performing subcontractor and general contracting (GC) divisions. This leader will ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, promote a culture of safety, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance to protect our team members, clients, and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Program Leadership:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s safety policies, programs, and procedures.
    • Lead the company’s efforts to create and sustain a culture of safety excellence.
  • Training & Education:
    • Design and deliver safety training programs tailored to the needs of the subcontractor and GC divisions.
    • Conduct onboarding safety training for new hires and ongoing development for all team members.
  • Compliance & Reporting:
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and local safety regulations.
    • Maintain accurate records of safety performance metrics, incidents, and training.
    • Investigate all accidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions, and implement corrective actions.
  • Site Inspections & Audits:
    • Conduct regular job site safety inspections and audits to ensure adherence to safety standards.
    • Provide clear feedback to project managers and field supervisors on safety performance.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the executive leadership team, project managers, and field supervisors to embed safety as a core value in all operations.
    • Serve as the company’s primary safety liaison with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify and implement best practices to improve safety performance and reduce risks.
    • Lead safety-related initiatives, such as equipment upgrades, technology adoption, and hazard identification programs.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, construction management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive safety leadership experience in the construction industry including work as a general contracting firm.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Relevant safety certifications, such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician), or equivalent.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Compensation:
  • $90,000 - $110,000 based on experience
