The Store Manager position is a results driven manager, responsible for leadership and supervision of two retail store locations. The position is directly responsible for the development and leadership of the retail team as well as managing the daily activities in the retail store(s). A successful candidate will be able to enhance customer satisfaction, meet sales and profitability goals and manage staff effectively.
Company Development and Essential Responsibilities
- Create an environment that motivates and inspires Sales Associates to exceed expectations and goals.
- Provide clear expectations with the team giving timely feedback, evaluating performance and seeking continuous improvement.
- Meet sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring and providing consistent feedback to sales team.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and a consistent store experience through excellent service.
- Achieve a high level of store performance through coaching and accountability by planning, monitoring and observing individual contributors as well as team performance.
Manage Staff
- Conduct personnel performance appraisals to assess training needs and build career paths ensuring continued growth for associates in all job responsibilities.
- Ensures all Sales Associates’ compliance with company policies, procedures and required trainings.
Manage Department Operations
- Teach sales team sales processes such as customer outreach and prospecting, needs assessment, recommendations and problem solving.
- Participate in the hiring process of Sales Associates. Select, train and develop associates to ensure they are fully equipped with the tools, information, knowledge and skills to do their job effectively. Ensure a positive and successful onboarding experience.
- Develop and maintain a schedule for employees so that the optimum coverage is available to provide the ideal customer experience to every customer.
- Oversee daily operational processes within the retail store according to company guidelines.
- Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards.
Other Duties
- Participate in community events to develop sales opportunities and a positive image for the company in the local community.
- Help coordinate in-store events to ensure that customers are engaged and assisted in a timely manner.
- Provide floor coverage and assist Sales Associates as needed during busy times or as required by the company.
- Resolve any service problems for customers within the company policies and continuously assure the delivery of high levels of customer service.
- Conduct regular store meetings focused on sales performance, expectations and collaboration.
- Develop a weekly agenda that is thorough, calculated and targets both individual long-term development and short-term goal accomplishment.
- Assist in other tasks, duties, or projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Flexibility in working a schedule to include nights, weekends, holidays, and special events. Some travel to alternative locations is required.
- Proven ability to provide superior customer service and successfully sell products and services.
- Prior experience in building, motivating and leading teams.
- Experience in coaching, organizing, planning work assignments and delegating duties.
- Ability to work effectively without close supervision.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- High degree of motivation.
- Outstanding ability to multi-task, managing multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated follow-through and attention to detail.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Systems including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Basic math and typing skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or state equivalency certification required.
- 1-year of supervisory experience required.
Licenses, Certifications Required:
· Valid driver’s license with motor vehicle record within company guidelines.
· Current auto insurance.
Working Conditions:
- Some moderate noise within retail store environment.
· Travel Required.
