About the role
Passionate about engineering? Your next opportunity will assist our Boldyn engineers with our New York subway tunnels design construction. We’re on the lookout for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Design Engineer Intern who can help with the creation, review, and submission of the infrastructure design for our next subway tunnel deployment. Based in our modern New York City office you will be immersed in every aspect of our engineering environment.
What you’ll be doing
As part of the Network Engineering Team, you’ll mainly be involved with:
- Working with the Senior Engineering team to learn about Boldyn’s Infrastructure design for cellular equipment in the New York City Subway System.
- Creating infrastructure layout designs for Boldyn’s next subway tunnel deployment.
- Reviewing technical drawings submitted to Boldyn by subcontractors using both AutoCAD and Bluebeam Revu.
- Attending technical meetings with the MTA and various subcontractors to review designs.
- Gaining experience working with AutoCAD creating layout drawings of subway tunnels.
- Reviewing field notes and measurements to determine how to best install equipment.
- Compiling packages of drawing submittals to send to contractors for installation.
- Other tasks as assigned.
What you’ll bring
Think you could make a difference here? We’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about the welfare of our team. You’ll want to make an impact from day one. You will also have the following:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering, or a related field
- 2nd year undergraduate or above with a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Knowledge of Solidworks, PTC Creo, Solid Edge, or Autodesk Inventor
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software
- Bluebeam Revu knowledge preferred, not required
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively in teams.
