USEMCO Inc., located in Tomah, Wisconsin, is a family-owned business that started in 1963 making pump stations, lift stations, control panels and specialty manufacturing of tanks used for water, chemical and petroleum products. Our custom design and manufacturing allow USEMCO Inc. to offer quality cost efficient products that are engineered for the customer’s specific application.
USEMCO is seeking a Control Panel Tester to join our team. As a Panel Tester you would perform electrical testing of control panels. The starting wage for a Control Panel Tester is $22.71 to $24.98 per hour based on skills and experience. Our production operations run one shift, 6 AM to 2:30 PM, year round. Job duties include the following:
- Read schematic drawings and related notes and verify that proper electrical components have been installed in the control panels.
- Connect electrical service to supply proper electrical voltage to test control panels.
- Download PLC programs from company server and upload into PLCs. Set VFD parameters.
- Perform various operational tests to ensure that control panels fulfill product specifications. Check function of various control panel components such as timers, relays, lights, switches, heaters, starters, breakers, PLCs, and VFDs.
- Recognize control panel operational defects and perform repairs, as needed. Retest equipment to determine if repairs have corrected problems.
- Place required labels in correct locations on tested control panels.
- Fill out required forms which document test results.

Education and/or Experience: Requires education generally equivalent to two years of technical school in electricity and/or electronics course work and 1 to 3 years related experience in control panel assembly and electrical testing operations.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and written materials relating to control panel testing procedures, quality control techniques, procedural manuals, and safety procedures.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide and use shop mathematics to perform electrical testing and repair work.
- Possess considerable understanding of the principles of electricity and the ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Ability to operate a variety of equipment such as hand tools and electrical meters.
