Lawnmower (Seasonal)

Description

USEMCO is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented person to assist us in seasonal groundwork. This position will be responsible for providing the labor necessary to complete tasks such as mowing and edging of lawns, string trimming, dispersal of lawn clippings, raking and disposing of leaves and other yard waste.

• Part-Time: 20-30 hours per week weather permitting
• Seasonal: Approximately April to October

Job Duties:

• Mow lawn either by hand or use a riding lawnmower.
• Trim and edge around driveways, sidewalks, trees, mulch beds, and walls.
• Eliminate accumulated clippings via blowing or raking.
• Blow hard surfaces clean.
• Load and secure all tools and other necessary equipment and materials.
• Participate in equipment maintenance.
• Take direction from the crew leader and complete other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Valid drivers license required.
• 18 years or older required.
• Experience using a riding lawnmower, trimmer, and other lawn grooming tools.
• Ability to drive with a trailer attached to a company vehicle.

PROTECTIVE CLOTHING REQUIRED: The employee must wear safety glasses, closed toe shoes, long pants, ear protection as required.

Heavy work: Occasional lifting and carrying objects up to 75 pounds, Frequent lifting and carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds; and/or continuous lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 10-20 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is primarily performed under general supervision and requires working in a variety of climatic conditions. Work may result in exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals that could include, but are not limited to, cleaning agents, sanitizers, fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate unless operating a lawn machinery.

COMMENTS: This position varies in hours per week dependent on the weather. The employee must use extreme care to operate lawn machinery in a safe fashion.
