Position Summary:
The Director of Training, reporting to the ESH Director, is responsible for overseeing Emergency Response, Safety, and Regulatory training programs for USES employees and customers. They will manage training delivery, scheduling, billing, and coordination, ensuring programs meet health, safety, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and guide staff performance, identifying training and development needs.
- Communicate effectively with employees and corporate teams, offering input and suggestions.
- Address customer complaints promptly, using feedback tools to improve service.
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation, including ER inventory and equipment management.
- Build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and external partners.
- Oversee maintenance and safety of assigned equipment, ensuring compliance with standards.
- Foster positive working relationships across departments, addressing issues proactively.
- Ensure work schedules and procedures are coordinated to meet productivity, quality, and budget goals.
- Enforce safety standards, conducting meetings, audits, and addressing hazards in the workplace.
- Participate in employee development through performance evaluations, coaching, and mentoring.
- Manage staffing levels, ensuring adequate resources for job requirements.
- Supervise multiple projects, ensuring quality and timely completion of work.
- Maintain professionalism and time management, representing USES appropriately.
- Stay updated on industry trends through workshops and continuous learning.
- Provide on-the-job training for team members, ensuring certifications are up-to-date.
- Lead and oversee training programs for USES employees and customers, ensuring relevance and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with the Health, Safety, Environmental, and Compliance Department to design and implement training materials.
- Continuously review and update training content to provide the most current resources.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
GED or High School Diploma required; college degree highly preferred
10-20 years instructor experience with an emphasis on Emergency Response, HAZMAT Response, Oil Spill Response, and environmental response training programs.
Ability to develop, evaluate and deliver training programs.
Subject Matter Expert (SME) qualifications in Emergency Response, Safety and Regulatory training programs
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the company.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Intermediate Level: Fully proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel and some basic understanding of other Microsoft products. Full understanding of Email and Internet. Ability to assist others with any word or excel questions.
