The candidate selected is expected to provide quality teaching in courses offered in the Personal Financial Planning (PFP) program. The chosen candidate is also expected to serve as Director of the PFP program, managing and overseeing the continuing development of the program, especially on student success and the program’s outreach. Additional responsibilities include engaging in activities to attract new students to the PFP major, maintaining AACSCB academic or professional qualifications, maintaining Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation, and participating in service to the university and professional communities. An instructor’s normal teaching load is four courses per semester during the academic year. This load is reduced for the PFP position because of the demands of the administrative roles the candidate is expected to fill. Minimum Qualifications
- A terminal qualification (PhD or DBA) in financial planning, finance, or a closely related field in business and economics from an AACSB-accredited institution.
- Recent experience teaching upper-level and/or graduate financial planning or finance courses at an AACSB-accredited institution.
- Meeting classification as a “scholarly academic” according to current AACSB standards.
- Maintaining the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.
Candidates possessing the following additional qualifications will be given preference:
- Experience with teaching personal financial planning courses.
- Administrative experience and ability to engage with the business community.
- Experience in financial services as a financial planner or advisor.
