Position Summary
To direct the delivery of lending and business services to members through commercial, consumer, indirect, and real estate lending; participate in development and implementation of organizational strategic plans with a primary responsibility to ensure the credit union meets organizational, financial, operational, service, and growth plans. Participate in the general management of the organization as member of Senior Management Team including frequent interaction with board of directors.
Essential Functions Include:
- Commercial and Business Lending, Consumer, Indirect and Real Estate Lending: Lead team of directors to ensure lending strategy meets organizational goals and objectives. Monitors product delivery, processes, and service quality for lending and commercial services teams. Provides guidance, recommendations, and approves underwriting decisions for employees. Establishes annual sales goals in coordination with SVP/COO and direct reports for loan and deposit products, initiates actions to achieve the goals and meet organizational strategic objectives.
Card Portfolio: Leads strategy and direction for credit, debit, prepaid, ATMs, and payroll card programs. Ensures regulatory compliance and business continuity. Oversees selection and management of vendor relationships, ensures proper configuration of systems and networks, participates in card portfolio management, analyzes and controls expenses and fraud mitigation efforts.
People Management: Hires, reviews, schedules, trains, directs, and monitors the work of direct reports with an emphasis on robust leadership development. Keeps Chief Operating Officer apprised of leadership development efforts. Conducts performance reviews. allocates resources to meet operational needs within the department. Responsible for attracting and retaining top quality talent.
Collaboration: Builds and maintains relationships through all areas of the organization. Collaborates weekly with retail leadership and business development, visits all retail locations, is present and on site with staff to foster trust and teamwork.
Member Experience: Prioritizes the needs and experience of our members and team members above all else. Responds with urgency and decisiveness.
Product Development: Oversees development, and implementation of commercial and consumer loan/deposit program strategy and policy; leads activity related to new product development with respect to commercial and consumer loan and deposit programs and products. Champions innovation in our lending strategy.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensures the organization is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Is informed of changes and responds accordingly on behalf of the organization. Serves as a member of the ALCO and Lending Strategy Committee.
Community Engagement: Represents the Credit Union in its relationships with members, sponsor organization(s), other financial institutions and similar groups.

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree obtained through a formal 4-year program at an accredited educational facility. Master’s (MBA) degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10-years of previous financial institution experience.
- Minimum of 3-years of comprehensive commercial services experience preferred.
- Minimum of 5-years of real estate and consumer lending experience.
- Prior retail/member/customer experience management strongly preferred.

Work Environment:
This job operates in an office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment. This position does include some remote work.
