Position Summary

Direct the delivery of lending and business services to commercial members; develop and sustain comprehensive commercial and business services, including treasury management and payroll services. Develop and manage all aspects of business and commercial lending, to include commercial real estate and construction and development. Coordinate and manage portfolio of commercial participations to include leadership of commercial loan review committee meetings and completion of periodic review. Collaborate with community engagement team to identify and solicit new business opportunities. Participate in development and implementation of organizational strategic plans with a primary responsibility to ensure the credit union meets organizational, financial, operational, service, and growth plans.

Essential Functions Include

  • Lead, direct, and monitor Commercial and Business Services through team to ensure achieving organizational goals and objectives. Monitors product delivery, processes, and service quality for commercial services team. Provide guidance, recommendations, and approve underwriting decisions for commercial borrowers.
  • Manage Commercial Loan Participation Portfolio and leads quarterly Commercial Loan Committee Review meetings.
  • Review and present Commercial Loan Participations opportunities to Commercial Loan Committee for approval. Actively seek additional opportunities.
  • Direct and monitor the work of direct reports with an emphasis on robust leadership development. Keeps Senior Director of Consumer and Commercial Lending and SLT apprised of team development efforts. Build and maintain relationships through all areas of the organization. Collaborates weekly with retail leadership and business development, visit all retail locations, is present and on site with staff to foster trust and teamwork. Prioritizes the needs and experience of our members and team members above all else. Responds with urgency and decisiveness.
  • Conduct performance reviews; allocates resources to meet operational needs within the department; reviews and approves, denies, or modifies department recommendations from team members. Responsible for attracting and retaining top quality talent.
  • Develop, propose, and implements commercial deposit program strategy and policy in partnership with the Senior Director of Member Experience; leads activity related to new product development with respect to commercial loan and deposit programs and products.
  • Develop and maintain Commercial policies and procedures.
  • Establish annual sales goals (in coordination with Senior Director of Consumer and Commercial Lending and other Directors) for loan and deposit products and initiates actions to achieve the goals.
  • Build and maintain network of partners in the commercial services industry. Attend training seminars and seeks additional certifications as needed.
  • Identify new business opportunities in collaboration with marketing department.
  • Ensure the organization is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Stays informed of changes and responds accordingly on behalf of the organization. Serves as a member of the ALCO and Lending Strategy Committee.
  • Establish and maintain vendor relationships and hold them accountable for service delivery.
  • Represent the Credit Union in its relationships with members, sponsor organization(s), other financial institutions, and similar groups.

Required Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree obtained through a formal 4-year program at an accredited educational facility.
  • Minimum of 5-years of previous financial institution experience.
  • Minimum of 5-years of comprehensive commercial services experience.
  • Prior retail/member/customer experience management strongly preferred.

  • Must demonstrate a functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to: U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act.

Work Environment

This job operates in an office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment. This position does include some remote work.

Physical Requirements
