Job Title: Lead ETL Developer
Location: Hybrid (On-site in Salem, Oregon)
This role is crucial for supporting the Health Analytics Library (HAL), a Medicaid analytical and reporting SQL database solution. As part of the HAL modernization project, the selected candidate will play a key role in reprogramming legacy SAS ETL processes to SQL, while also improving data logic and working closely with internal teams to ensure the system is optimized for cloud migration.
Key Responsibilities:
- ETL Development & Migration: Reprogram legacy SAS ETL code to SQL (Microsoft SQL Server) as part of the migration to the Azure cloud environment.
- System Analysis & Design: Analyze current system architecture, data flows, and integration. Identify areas for improvement and work with stakeholders to define solutions.
- Collaboration: Work with OHA project team members (PMs, BAs, DBAs, data analysts) and HAL management to gather requirements and implement solutions.
- Data Logic Improvement: Update Medicaid claims data grouping categories and ensure compliance with national coding standards.
- Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of system requirements, data specifications, and ETL process changes.
- Testing & Troubleshooting: Ensure the updated ETL code is thoroughly tested in the HAL test and production environments.
Required Skills and Experience:
- SQL Programming: Advanced experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL-based ETL development.
- Data Analysis: Strong skills in data analysis, particularly with large data sets related to Medicaid, health, or similar domains.
- ETL Process Management: Proven experience developing and managing ETL processes, including migrating legacy systems to modern environments.
- Tools: Familiarity with Microsoft DevOps or other code management tools.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- SAS Experience: Prior experience working with SAS for data management and analysis.
- Cloud Migration: Familiarity with cloud-based environments, particularly Azure.
- Government or Health Sector: Experience working with government agencies or healthcare data environments (Medicaid, OHA, ODHS).
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in SQL programming and ETL process management.
Location Requirements:
- Hybrid: The role allows for remote work contingent upon the candidate providing their own office equipment and internet setup. On-site presence in Salem, Oregon is required when necessary.
