What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Mechanic position at USG?
Primary Function :
Perform highly diversified duties to repair and maintain production machines and plant facility equipment. (e.g. building maintenance, machinery repairs, welding, pipefitting, mobile mechanics, etc.).
Basic Requirements :
- Meets Essential Physical Requirements of the Position. Must regularly lift / move up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift / move up to 50 lbs. Regularly climb stairs / ladders / scaffolding and work at heights. Walk / stand / work on feet for extended periods of time. Work in hot / humid environments.
- Understand and adhere to all department and general plant safety rules.
- Work effectively in a team environment.
- Possess basic required hand tools.
- Be available for overtime and emergency call-in as needed.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- High degree of mechanical aptitude, learning capacity and self-motivation.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
- Proficient knowledge of industrial equipment and maintenance.
- Mechanical Repair, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Bearings, Lifting / Rigging, Welding, Pipe Fitting, etc.

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
