To include but not limited too :

  • Provide a full range of Physician Assistant services in primary and specialty medical care within the limits of their training and privileges granted by the MTF (e.g., supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated).
  • Technically direct and provide care for a variety of diseases and types of injuries (i.e., acute, chronic and minor trauma), and the skills to recognize emergency conditions in order to diagnose, prescribe for and treat diseases, disorders and injuries, and refer the more complex cases and serious con
  • Identify a medical problem and determine appropriate action to meet the problem, including referral to a physician.
  • Perform specific diagnostic and therapeutic practices and procedures in accordance with scope of practice.
  • Establish collaborative rapport with physician, nursing and others in order to promote and facilitate primary care services.
  • Teach patients and family member's healthy regimen and responsibility for achieving wellness.
  • Request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.
  • Manages animal bites, blood borne pathogen exposures, hospital employee health, and sexually transmitted disease prevention and treatment programs IAW Centers for Disease Control, DoD, and Air Force guidelines and regulations
  • Order diagnostic tests as applicable
  • Attend staff meetings to provide case discussion, continuing education, and continuous quality improvement.

Requirements : Qualifications :

  • Degree / Education : Graduate from an academic program, within the nursing specialty field of study that is accredited by a regional or national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
  • Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support : Certified in the specialty required by the TO as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the recognized national nursing certification organization for the specialty area of practice as appropriate (for example, National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Nurses, American Nurses Association, National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Specialties). Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Experience : Knowledge of professional care theories, principles, practices, disease process and procedures. Knowledge of a variety of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment, the desired effects, side effects, and complications of their use as well as the accurate administration of the pharmacologic agent, including dosage calculations as required. Knowledge of the administrative requirements for proper documentation of patients’ condition including disease progress, acknowledgement of teaching, and follow up care. Knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in the use of basic word processing, data entry and automated medical records
  • Licensure / Registration : Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse.
