- Degree: Master's degree.
- Education: Registered Nurse Practitioner shall have a Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited school and shall possess the appropriate license from a United States jurisdiction that allows for the independent practice of clinical services. Substitute or related degrees are unacceptable. Related experience will not be accepted in lieu of degree or license requirements. Shall be a graduate of an accredited National League of Nursing (NLN) school.
- Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support (5.2.3): Certified in the specialty as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the recognized national nursing certification organization for the specialty area of practice as appropriate certification: Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician’s Assistants (NCCPA).
- Experience: . Have a minimum of two years of experience within the last three years routinely practicing as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in rendering primary care medicine (i.e. family practice, general medicine, internal medicine.)
- Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse Practitioner in one of the 50 states in the U.S. or the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands as required
- Possess and maintain a current Drug Enforcement Administration registration number certificate to prescribe medication
- Supervise and provide general screenings and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, chronic, and acute conditions
- Provide immunizations
- Diagnose treat and counsel patients
- Technically direct and provide care for various diseases and/or types of injuries (acute, chronic, minor trauma)
- Recognize emergency conditions for proper treatment
- Direct and teach staff
- Provide educational lectures
- Train in-service staff members
- Promote preventative care and health maintenance
- Annual physicals
- Teach patients and family member’s healthy regimens and methods to achieve wellness
