What You’ll Do:

As our CNC Programmer, you'll play a vital role in driving precision manufacturing and innovation. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating, reviewing, and editing CNC programs for production and prototype parts.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: 6-9 years of CNC programming with Mastercam/SolidWorks, plus hands-on CNC/machining experience (2-5 years).
  • Education: A high school diploma or GED is required; an associate degree or certifications in CNC programming, SolidWorks, or Mastercam are preferred.
  • Expertise:

Skill in reading blueprints, analyzing designs, and selecting appropriate tools, speeds, and feeds.

Requirements:

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Responsible for precision CNC Machine programming, set-up, and first piece support for lathes, mills, and multi-axis Computerized Numerically Controlled (CNC) equipment for production and prototype parts under limited supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create, review, and edit precision CNC machining programs
  • Confer with operations, engineering, and quality teams to determine programming requirements
  • Maintain Company database and files for each part and machining center
  • Guide machinists and floor personnel on CNC Programs and capabilities

SPECIFIC DUTIES ASSIGNED:

  • Develop CNC programs for production and prototype parts and assemblies
  • Ensure all programs meet the guidelines of all drawings and designs for accurate First Piece Inspections
  • Analyze drawings and designs to determine accurate and producible parts
  • Determine appropriate cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates based on drawings and material properties
  • Review all programs for accuracy during the in-process and at the final run
  • Modify or edit existing programs as needed, ensuring repeatability
  • Resolve technical challenges with CNC Machinery, troubleshooting when necessary
  • Perform machine set-ups (including the first piece) to produce conforming parts
  • Understand the capabilities of relevant manufacturing equipment, operations, and software
  • Verify that machinery is in optimal operating condition (minimize backlash, use of ball bar, assess perpendicularity, perform tight tolerances)
  • Recommend resources for equipment, tooling, and materials
  • Develop methods for processes and improvements with a focus on cost savings and efficiency
  • Assist in training CNC machinists, operators, and other teams
  • Accurately maintain CNC Programming and Continuous Improvement Logs within designated systems
  • Track and evaluate costs and efficiency, including tooling, material, and cycle times
  • Engage with customers on project strategies and development
  • Assist in providing necessary information for quotations and contract reviews
  • Collaborates with internal teams and external partners to troubleshoot and improve efficiency
  • Support manufacturing and engineering teams by providing input for routers and manufacturing procedures
  • Instruct and mentor department members on part cleanliness, uniformity, and workmanship
  • Promote, guide, and assist others to meet Quality Policy and ISO standards and customer expectations

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A – Not Applicable

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess a verifiable high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Associate degree or Certification in CNC Programming preferred
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience operating and/or set-up CNC and/or manual Machinery
  • Minimum of 6-9 years of experience utilizing Mastercam/Solidworks to program CNC Machinery
  • Certified SolidWorks Professional and/or Mastercam Associate or Professional Level Certifications preferred
  • National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) Certifications preferred
