Who you are:
Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, the Senior Compensation Manager for Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG) will lead the design, implementation, and management of compensation programs to attract and retain top talent while ensuring internal equity and external competitiveness. This role will act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, leveraging data-driven insights to shape compensation strategies that align with USHG’s business objectives while supporting a culture of Enlightened Hospitality.
What you’ll do:
- Cultivate a culture of Enlightened Hospitality for all stakeholders that supports our business objectives and growth
- Develop and execute comprehensive compensation strategies that support USHG’s goals and promote a competitive edge in the hospitality industry
- Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to ensure competitive pay practices
- Design and manage base salary structures, bonus incentive plans, and other compensation programs
- Lead annual compensation reviews, including salary adjustments and bonuses
- Analyze compensation data and trends to provide actionable insights to leadership
- Develop and present reports on pay practices, trends, and program effectiveness
- Partner with People Team, Finance, and Operations Leadership to align compensation programs with department and business goals
- Act as a subject matter expert to guide on compensation-related matters
What we need from you:
- At least 5-7 years of progressive experience in compensation management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Proficiency in HRIS and compensation tools. Advanced Excel skills are a must
- Strong understanding of compensation principles, analytics, and relevant laws/regulations
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to influence and build strong relationships at all levels
- Experience in compensation practices and performance-based programs
- Strategic thinking and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects in a dynamic environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, as well as professional certifications (e.g., CCP, SPHR), are not required but preferred
- Ability to balance the needs of the business with fairness and market competitiveness in the hospitality industry
- Proven track record in developing and managing innovative compensation programs
