What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cable/Fiber installation Laborer position at USI Cable Corporation?
USI Cable Corp a family ran company of over 32 years is seeking a Telecom Ground Hand/Laborer to join our TEAM!
Responsibilities will include -
- Load, unload, layout and prep tools/supplies/equipment/materials needed at each job site
- Assist as required in all manual labor aspects of the project as directed by the
- Lineman, Foreman, or Supervisor.
- Handle physically demanding construction duties.
- Pull a lasher, carry a ladder, and throw rope.
- Install cabling (coaxial/fiber) within customer's property and public easements to meet the client's requirements.
- Assist the Lineman/Foreman with tasks.
- Direct traffic flow in accordance with local DOT guidelines.
- Properly maintain the company vehicle.
- Drive company Vehicle to/from jobsites and work locations.
- Assist in installation of aerial and/or underground cable.
Qualifications & Behaviors -
- Valid Driver’s License is Required. Clean driving record for the last 2 years.
- Team Player – Works well as a member of a group.
- Loyal – Shows up for work.
- Ability & willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Must be able to follow instructions and have good communication skills
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, dig and reach.
- Must be able to preform strenuous physical labor under all types of conditions.
- Ability to work under pressure, in a fast paced and quickly changing environment
Skills – (Will train the right candidate)
- Ability to identify all materials the Lineman will need to perform the job
- Ability to climb/Gaff poles correctly
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and/or system maps.
- Knowledge and understanding of the safety requirements to complete the job(s) safely.

USI will provide on-the-job training in all areas of safety, including flagging, tool operation and maintenance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
